The Wharton School’s MBA in Health Care Management is a full-time, two-year program that combines the core MBA requirements with an interdisciplinary health care major. Students thus gain the full range of managerial and technical expertise as well as addressing comprehensively the complex and multi-faceted aspects of the US health care system.
The program’s graduates are exceptionally well prepared to play leading roles in the diverse organizations and specialties that make up this vitally important industry, one that is constantly changing as a result of innovations in science and technology, economic forces, human demand, and governmental and social policy. Alumni have established careers in pharmaceutical and medical product companies, financial services, hospitals and other medical institutions, entrepreneurial ventures, consulting firms, foundations, industry, and government — many of them holding positions as chief executive officers, directors, and other key decision makers.
The quality of the students enrolled in the Health Care major is a significant contributor to their intellectual and collegial experience at Wharton. The combination of their educational and personal backgrounds, their professional experience, their clarity of focus, and the relationships they build during this cohesive, well-thought out and executed educational experience results in a life-long network of colleagues and faculty.
